How are health and safety issues addressed?

We have a public health nurse that visits once a month. She primarily works with our infants, but she also visits each classroom to be available to answer questions and inform teachers if there are any new procedures we need to follow. Annually, all staff members have training on OSHA rules, blood borne pathogens, Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome, Abusive Head Trauma, and other topics relevant to the care of young children. All teachers and assistants have first aid and CPR training. We have regular fire and tornado drills and annually review methods to assure safety. We keep our entry door secure with a coded lock and have lock down procedures in place. We release children only to individuals that parents have approved.
